Workshop Addresses Anxiety in Children

Why does my child worry so much? Do kids today have more anxiety? How can I cope with my child’s anxiety? If these are questions that parents find themselves asking, they can come to a FREE informational session that will provide an overview of kids and anxiety. Attendees will learn about stressors, coping strategies, how to support child in and out of school, and when to seek supports from a mental health professional.

The PTSA at Governor Thomas Johnson Middle School has partnered with the Mental Health Association of Frederick County to present The Monster Under the Bed: Coping with Your Child's Anxiety.

The presenter is Eleanor Bentz, LCSW-C, Clinical Director at the Mental Health Association of Frederick County. Bentz has served as MHA’s Clinical Director since 2013. She earned her Master’s degree in social work from the University of Maryland and specializes in child and maternal health. She holds a certificate in childhood mental health.

The same workshop will be presented twice to better enable parents to fit the event in to their schedules:

Tuesday, March 7th from 6:00pm – 7:30pm

Friday, March 17th from 10am – 11:30am

Workshops will be held at the Mental Health Association, 226 S. Jefferson Street, Frederick MD 21701. Light refreshments will be provided.
