33rd Annual Legislative Breakfast

The Frederick County Human Trafficking Task Force released its findings in January of 2018. Many were shocked to learn that this is a pervasive epidemic in our area. To help bring awareness and insight to this issue victimizing young women, human trafficking survivor Shamere McKenzie will share her experience with us.

In her dynamic talks, lectures, and workshops, Shamere McKenzie not only shares her story, but she educates people about the tricks pimps use to convince girls to get involved in “the game.”  Her speeches are moving, inspiring, and may actually save some young girls lives.

She is now the Chief Executive Officer for the Sun Gate Foundation, an anti-trafficking organization that aims to provide educational opportunities for survivor of human trafficking.

LEGISLATORS: You are eligible for one complimentary ticket. RSVP to Erin Marr to attend.
